Your New Go-To Space for Confidence, Creativity, and Power Tools
Hi and welcome!
We’re so excited you’re here—whether you’ve just discovered the magic of DIY or you’ve been tackling home projects for years, this space is for you.
At This That and DIY, we believe that everyone—regardless of gender, age, or experience—has the potential to feel confident and capable when it comes to using tools, fixing things, and creating with their own two hands. That said, our mission is especially close to the hearts (and hands!) of women who want to feel empowered to take on home projects themselves, without having to “wait for someone else to do it.”
Let’s be honest: DIY has often felt like a boys’ club. But times are changing, and so are we. More and more women are picking up drills, learning how to fix a leaky tap, or even building their own furniture—and loving every second of it. But getting started can be intimidating if you’ve never held a power tool or don’t know where to begin. That’s exactly why This That and DIY was created.
🔧 What You Can Expect from This Blog
This blog will be your go-to guide for all things DIY, with posts that are practical, approachable, and—most importantly—judgment-free.
You’ll find:
✅ Beginner-friendly tutorials for projects around the house
✅ Tool guides that explain what you actually need (and how to use it)
✅ Real stories from women learning the ropes of DIY
✅ Tips, tricks, and hacks to save you time and money
✅ Creative inspiration for transforming your space on your terms
Whether you want to hang a shelf, patch a hole in the wall, or finally build that Pinterest-worthy planter box, we’ve got your back—with clear guidance, encouragement, and a good dose of fun along the way.
🌟 You Don’t Need Experience—Just Curiosity
One of the biggest myths about DIY is that you have to be “handy” or already know what you’re doing. Not true. All you really need is a willingness to learn and the confidence to give it a try (and we’ll help you with both).
At This That and DIY, we also run hands-on workshops designed especially for beginners and women who want to learn in a supportive, welcoming environment. You’ll get to try tools, ask questions, meet other awesome DIYers, and leave with new skills—and maybe even a few new friends.
💬 Let’s Build Something Together
We’re here to make DIY accessible, enjoyable, and maybe even a little addictive. This blog is just the beginning of what we hope will be a vibrant, growing community of doers, makers, and fearless fixers.
So grab your toolbox (or your curiosity), and stick around—we’ve got exciting things ahead.
Welcome to the This That and DIY family. I'm delighted you're here,
Suzanne xo
